ATTENTION LEADERS…..

ADVANCEMENT REPORTS ARE NOT OPTIONAL

This is a requirement of the National Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Great Sauk Trail Council is required to comply and enforce these guidelines. Units are reminded that Advancement Reports are “required” in order to purchase the following : mail as long as all the proper information is provided in advance of purchase.

CUB SCOUTS: Tiger Cub, Bobcat, Wolf, Bear, Webelos and Arrow of Light Rank Badges.

BOY SCOUTS : Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star,Life and Eagle Rank Badges, Eagle Palms and all Merit Badges.

In Addition : Blue Merit Badge cards are required to purchase Merit Badges.

Polar Bear and World Conservation Patches require separate paperwork.

Advancement reports require the boy’s name, rank badges and merit badges earned. This is after the fact, not before a Scout completes the requirements.

Completed Advancement Reports will be:

1. Turned in when purchasing awards at the Council Service Center in both Ann Arbor and Jackson.

2. Included when ordering by mail.

3. They may be faxed into the Council Service Center.

Then someone from the Unit can come in and purchaseawards.

4. Using Pack or Troopmaster or e-

Stockpiling Awards

This practice is not allowed and causes problems. Individual boys records fail to be properly updated. This can cause major problems for our Scouts and for some become roadblocks for their Scouting success.

These guidelines apply to all BSA Councils. The Scout Shop Managers and clerks are required to follow these policies.

Your cooperation is appreciated by your Scouts and by us.
